Kids and adults enjoy treats during Halloween. Needless to say you cannot enjoy such a celebration without a food that satisfies your sweet tooth. How about finding a cake at your local grocer decorated with ghosts and goblins? Usually bakeries will have cupcakes appropriately themed for the Holiday. You can also attain cookie cutters shaped in the form of ghosts and other scary characters.
Get your children involved in the process of mixing the cookie dough, rolling it out and using the cutters to create the theme-based cookies. Afterwards make it a cookie decorating party, icing and decorating the shaped cookies with colorful frostings. Nothing has to be perfect: it just needs to be fun. Who says every treat though needs to be a cookie or a cupcake? You can also offer treats in the way of coloring books, comic books and small toys. Get everyone participating in the cookie making process and then pass out the coloring books and let your children produce their best works of art.
Other ideas with respect to fun treats include making small
sized pizzas. And if you are a parent that does not care for
hyper-active children you may make it a game. Ask the child if he
wishes a trick or treat and when he replies treat present him with
a plate of deliciously cut Red Rome apple slices. Certainly the
fall apple will be in season. He or she can munch on it while
coloring between the lines of the coloring book you've
supplied.
