Halloween Parties

There are a great many Halloween party ideas floating around out there. The scary feature of Halloween makes for a good many party ideas. One suggestion is to have all of your guests dress up in Medieval costumes and maybe have your Halloween party in a castle. There are actually properties even in the United States where castle style structures are in place and may be rented for just such a purpose. Another idea is to make your Halloween event much like a Mardi Gras. Have your guests dress up just as if they were going to a Mardi Gras celebration complete with ball gowns and silver face masks. Also some may try dressing as the twisted jester, a character who is themed around colors of red and black and of course masked.

There should be plenty of blood red punch or Bloody Marys regardless of the party plan. Keep the atmosphere dark and plentifully festive. Make sure to shake, rattle and roll your bones to lively tunes. Persons wishing to play down their Halloween party celebration a bit may try for a small dinner party complete with a centerpiece of black roses. Really scary flicks can be played after dinner such as Friday the Thirteenth, Dracula, or The Bride of Frankenstein. Or if you like lighter entertainment you might sit and enjoy reruns of the Adam's Family or prior episodes of Dark Shadows. Parties for children may include suggesting everyone dress up in accordance with a favored fairy tale; or as monsters and scary characters. Certainly it is a Halloween party however you can still play regular kid's games such as Pin the Tail on the Donkey. The theatrics of spinning each child around and allowing him or her to find their way to the donkey will prove lots of fun for everyone. Children can have vivid imaginations so if you have them costumed they are bound to create some of their own conceptual fun besides.

Also since it is a kid's Halloween party make certain that there are plenty of sweet treats. You might try serving cakes stylized as castles complete with dungeons and dragons or more idyllic fortifications where only a fairy princess and knight would reside. Also cakes formed into dwellings housing trolls and unsightly characters may be amusing. If you want to bring the theme down a notch or two, you can always serve theme-based cookies and cupcakes along with Hawaiian punch. Fun paper plates with favorite fairy tale characters can hold sweet concoctions. Whatever the theme of your Halloween party, paper plates will make clean up much easier.
